Google Account
This is the standard free account that most people would use and gives you full access to the entire library of Google applications available. You get the standard @gmail account plus the entire list of Google products which is far too large to list here. The ones we primarily assist with setting up include Google Mail (Gmail), Google Docs (which includes online storage), Google Calendar & Google Sites. These services are exactly the same as the ones provided in Apps Standard, so please see below for more information on them.

Google Apps Standard
This is the specialized version of Google's services targeted more at the business user or someone that has their own domain name they need to run. You use Google to host your personalized email and website and use the Calendar & Docs services to help run your business and backup your data. Be aware that Google Apps Standard only includes the services listed below. All the services above are only for @gmail accounts.

- Gmail - Customized with your own domain name (example.com). Up to 50 user accounts.
- Calendar - Organize and share your events internally within your domain and with the public
- Docs - Create Documents, Spreadsheets, Presentations & Drawings. Collaborate in real time within your domain and with the public on any files created in Docs. Also allows online storage of any other files you have so it can be used as a data backup service.
- Sites - Host your public website using Google's website creation tools. Host sites internal to your domain to give coworkers a central place to receive and share information. Please note that Foresight Technology is not a web design company. We will assist in getting your Sites account set up and show you how it works, but you will need to contact a web design company if you need assistance in actually building a website.
For a custom domain, a DNS provider is required to point your domain name to Google as the host. We recommend ZoneEdit.com for free DNS hosting for the first 5 domain names (paid service after 5 domains or exceedingly large traffic amounts). We will gladly assist in getting a ZoneEdit account set up for you and show you how to use it.
