Internet Applications

Firefox Web Browser - 100% Free - Want to prevent roughly 95% of common malware infections from even happening in the first place? Stop using Internet Explorer. Mozilla Firefox is an alternative web browser you can use and, since it's not integrated into Windows like IE, most infection attempts over the web (where the majority come from) won't work. Firefox is a web browser, not an antivirus program, so don't expect it to protect you from everything. See the Antivirus section for some free protection options. The other great thing about Firefox is the large library of Plugins to give additional functionality and customization to the browser.

Google Chrome Browser - 100% Free - Another great alternative web browser is Chrome. If fast web browsing is what you want, Chrome is the choice for you. It also allows plugins like Firefox, but its library hasn't approached Firefox's level yet

Google Applications - 100% Free & Paid - Please see our Google Apps page for more information.

Thunderbird Email & Calendar - 100% Free - Want a full-featured email program but can't afford Outlook? Mozilla Thunderbird is an excellent alternative. It also has integrated spam filtering that, once you teach it what is spam and what isn't, is very effective. Unfortunately, the new Thunderbird 3 does not work well with the Lightning Calendar plugin at this time. The developers of Lightning are working on a new version for Thunderbird 3. In the mean time, if you need a Calendar program, Sunbird can provide a standalone one for you.
Or if you'd really like them integrated together (more like Outlook), you can download the older versions of Thunderbird and Lightning. Both still work perfectly well and there's nothing wrong with using an old version of software until the new version catches up to your needs!
Thunderbird - old version 2.0.24
Lightning - old version 0.9
